New RDA-NR board members announced

Friday 3 February 2012:  Seven new committee members will join Regional Development Australia-Northern Rivers (RDA-NR) this month, and Lynne DeWeaver has been reappointed as Deputy Chair.

RDA-NR Chair Ian Tiley welcomed the appointments: “The new members bring a wide variety of new skills in business and industry, tourism, sports, academia, community engagement and town planning to our Board and I look forward to working with them – and our returning members – on the regional priorities outlined in the Northern Rivers Regional Plan.”

RDAF Round TWO

12 January 2012:  RDA-NR  welcomed yesterday’s announcement that three Northern Rivers projects have been invited to submit full applications to Round Two of the Regional Development Australia Fund (RDAF). The projects are:

- Arkinstall Park Regional Sports Centre (Tweed Shire Council)
- Ballina Biochar and Waste to Energy Project (Ballina Shire Council)
- Clarence Valley Regional Airport Upgrade (Clarence Valley Council)

Their applications will be assessed by an independent advisory panel and projects to be funded will be announced mid-year.

RDAF Round Two will invest $200 million in regional Australia. The RDAF is worth almost $1 billion over five years and is designed to boost economic and community development.

Who we are

Regional Development Australia – Northern Rivers (RDA-NR) is a non-profit, community-based organisation. It is part of a nationwide network of 55 regional bodies that provide a conduit between governments and communities.
 
The Committee, comprising 11 members appointed by the Australian and New South Wales Governments, is supported by CEO Katrina Luckie and a small team of staff.
 
We are based in Lismore and we cover the Tweed, Byron, Ballina, Clarence Valley, Richmond Valley, Lismore and Kyogle Council areas of northern New South Wales that are defined by the Clarence, Richmond and Tweed Rivers.
 
Our vision is to connect the Northern Rivers to opportunities through sustainable partnerships focusing on community, environment and the economy.
