The Byron Region Food Book, a showcase of the region’s strength in the food sector, is nearing completion. The book provides a capability guide for buyer groups such as caterers, chefs, food services and major events suppliers to the amazing array of quality food in the Byron region.
There are still opportunities for local food businesses to be involved in the project. Participation in the Food Book is free. If you have not contributed your content please contact Jane Laverty at jane.laverty@byron.nsw.gov.au who is working with businesses to complete their profile page.
The Food Book will also feature each of the Northern Rivers council areas, promoting their agriculture production and food manufacturing positioning along with a feature page on Northern Rivers Food as the primary network group for the region’s food sector.
The book has been produced by the Byron Shire Council’s Byron Region Food Advantage Project, which is supported by the NSW Department of Industry. The Project has attracted great support from food producers and gourmet and artisan food manufacturers across the region. A video presentation tool showcasing the region’s capability and two industry masterclasses are also currently being finalised and scheduled for roll-out in late September.
