The Hon. Rob Stokes MP, Minister for Planning, has released the Draft North Coast Regional Plan for consultation.
The draft Plan outlines a 20-year vision for the future, centred on a prosperous community, healthy environment and attractive lifestyle choices. The draft Plan identifies goals for the region including:
- A natural environment, Aboriginal and historic heritage that is protected and landscapes that are productive
- Offer housing choice in vibrant communities and liveable places
- Housing that meets the needs of changing communities
- A prosperous economy with services and infrastructure
- Improved transport connectivity and freight networks
The draft Plan consolidates strategic planning for the Far North Coast and Mid North Coast into a single region, while recognising sub-regional differences in communities along the coast.
The NSW Department for Planning and the Environment are now receiving feedback on the draft Plan.
More information on the plan and how you can have your say is available at www.planning.nsw.gov.au/NorthCoast
Submissions on the draft paper are invited throughout the consultation period from 2 March to 2 June 2016.
