A new group has been founded in Mullumbimby with an aim to create a totally renewable energy future for the town. Community-Owned Renewable Energy Mullumbimby (COREM) have received seed funding through the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage to hold a community gathering that aims to foster conversations about renewable Mullumbimby while raising funds to refurbish the Mullumbimby Drill Hall Theatre with all renewables for its impending 100 year birthday.

The Community Awareness and COREM launch will be held from 4pm to 10pm on Sunday 18 October at the Mullumbimby Civic Hall. The launch will bring together dozens of bright sparks from the renewables industries on panels, forums, stalls with information, community activists in alternative power, and many more.  Mandy Nolan will MC the day with speakers including Katrina Shields, Mayor Simon Richardson, SEED, ENOVA, Kindred Youth, and Rainbow Power.

For more information visit the COREM website and Facebook Group or visit Evolve Sphere to purchase tickets.
