NORTEC and Lismore City Council have partnered to foster entrepreneurship or leadership ability in the regions young people through the Lismore Future Leaders program.
The program provides opportunity for participants to form new networks and enhance their leadership and business skills, and to work with, and learn from business and community leaders across industry sectors in a series of hands-on workshops. Key to the program is “the pitch” where participants will pitch project ideas to NORTEC’s “Dragon’s Den” with the successful ideas underpinning the 9 month program, giving participants a real-world project that will ultimately be handed over to the local community.
The opportunity to develop the program has its foundations in the Imagine Lismore 10 Year Plan and it is well supported by Lismore City Council, NORTEC, and a steering committee of local business leaders from Summerland Credit Union, WCA Accountants, Thomas Noble Russell, Crowe Horwath and Bennett Constructions.
If you have someone within your organisation who demonstrates imagination and leadership qualities, would like to talk about scholarship opportunities, or if you would like to know more about the Lismore Future Leaders program, contact Ellen Kronen, Program Facilitator on ellenk@nortec.org.au or 0408 898 972.
