Art Magic comes to Lismore Regional Gallery
Lismore Regional Gallery’s current exhibition, Hiromi Tango Art Magic: Remnant, is the result of an interactive exploration between Hiromi Tango, Community Engagement Facilitator Claudie Flock and various local community groups and members. Hiromi Tango is an acclaimed sculptural installation and performance artist who uses textiles to weave together tactile and immersive environments by hand.
Community Sector Ball call for sponsors
The Northern Rivers Social Development Council (NRSDC) will once again be ‘putting on the glitz’ at this year’s 5th annual Northern Region Community Sector Ball and Awards night being held on Friday, November 27, at Lismore City Hall. With ‘Glitter and Gold’ set as the evening’s theme, the event is again set to be a glamorous affair with great entertainment, MCs, music, dancing, performance and delicious cuisine.
Destination Byron Tourism Symposium
Destination Byron and Northern Rivers Food have teamed up for an upcoming tourism industry symposium and networking function at The Farm Byron Bay & Byron Beach Cafe. The Symposium will be held from 1-5pm at The Farm, 11 Ewingsdale Road Byron Bay, on Friday 18th September. Keynote speakers and discussion panels will address the key market areas of food and sports tourism, business, conventions and events, and being internationally ready.
Accelerating Commercialisation Grant recipients announced
Another thirteen Australian companies have been offered assistance to propel their innovative ideas from the drawing board into the marketplace under the Australian Government’s Entrepreneurs’ Programme. Industry and Science Minister Ian Macfarlane announced $5.1 million in funding under the Entrepreneurs’ Programme’s Accelerating Commercialisation element that will help businesses take their products into Australian and international markets.
