RDA Northern Rivers Director, Tim Williamson recently spent time at the NSW Government Regional Landing Pad at York St, Sydney.
Part of the Sydney Startup Hub, the Regional Landing Pad is a special area that has been set aside for regional businesses to use for free while they are in Sydney.
The facility provides, short term access to
- meeting rooms with video conferencing facilities
- 12 dedicated desks
- a collaboration area
- printing facilities
- concierge services.
Use of the space is limited to the regional startup community, or metropolitan users seeking connections with the regional startup community. Eligible regional entrepreneurs can create a base in the Regional Landing Pad for up to 3 days at a time.
Benefits include the ability to meet and connect with like minded entrepreneurs, and meeting with potential investors, supply chain partners or service providers. There are also opportunities for attending the anchor incubator tenants events and networking sessions.
Regional entrepreneurs have the added benefit of learning about some of the global and national accelerator programs that operate inside the Sydney Startup Hub. This includes Microsoft ScaleUp, Caltex C-lab and the Transport for NSW Future Transport Digital Accelerator.
The Sydney Startup Hub is also located in the proximity to universities, providing links to research, equipment and expertise.
