On 17 April RDA-NR made a submission to the development of the Agricultural Competitiveness White Paper.

The submission emphasised the importance of agriculture to the region and clearly stated that the region’s reputation for producing ‘clean and green’ produce needs to be protected. It also covered issues concerning innovation and productivity, trade, investment and farm profitability. It made the case that while there needs to be invesment in enabling infrastructure, producers need to be incentivised and encouraged to conduct a profitable business from the produce, not just from speculation on land value.
